Thursday, November 9: All-you-can-drink Japanese sake workshop
This month we will be holding a Japanese Sake Workshop to learn the basics of Japanese rice wine, in partnership with Nomel, a sake shop located in Kanda.
The workshop will begin with an introduction by Yamazki san, the owner of Nomel and a specialist of sake, followed by a tasting session with 5 different types of Japanese sake. After the workshop, you are free to try more than 50 types of sake specially selected by the Nomel shop. Come join us for a great evening!

Sunday, November 19: Hiking Trip & Onsen, Mt. Nokogiri
Why don’t you go hiking with us and enjoy the beautiful momiji season? Every year, in November and May, Coto Japanese Academy invites our students to go hiking and discover the natural beauty of Japan.
This November, let’s explore Chiba’s Mount Nokogiri and enjoy its incredible view of the ocean. Did you know? Nokogiri is very famous for its unusual summit and blade shaped cliffs.
Let’s hike together on Sunday and relax in hot springs afterwards. Family and friends welcome!

Wednesday, November 22: Workshop Kanji Name And Paper Marbling
We’re excited to hold this new event in partnership with Global Development Ltd. and Logtre Ltd.
Grab this opportunity to get your name in kanji and to try out Japanese style paper marbling (墨流し, “floating ink”).
Nadeshiko Yamamoto, a professional calligrapher ,will pick a suitable kanji name for you and present it in calligraphy. on a Shikishi board (a special signing board). After the naming session, you’ll get a chance to practice paper marbling yourself!
Nadeshiko sensei is a calligrapher and member of the Contemporary Art Calligraphers Association. Her cross-genre work is based on traditional calligraphy and vary in letter types, colour and materials. She has held gallery exhibitions in Nagoya and Tokyo since 2009.
If there’s a particular kanji you would like to have in your name, do let us know beforehand!
