Our Business Japanese course in Tokyo helps working professionals improve their workplace Japanese. Learn business Japanese for meetings, email, presentations, and keigo (honorific and polite speech). Classes are small and practical, so you speak in every lesson and get feedback from your teacher.

What Is Business Japanese?
Business Japanese is the Japanese used at work. Unlike everyday Japanese, a business Japanese course focuses on keigo (honorific and polite speech), formal vocabulary, and the right tone for meetings, emails, and phone calls. You also learn the workplace etiquette behind the language, such as when to be direct, how to decline politely, and how to show respect to senior colleagues.

Level: JLPT N3-N2
This course is for learners who are comfortable with everyday workplace Japanese and ready to handle more demanding situations, like leading a discussion, fielding questions from a client, or politely pushing back on a proposal. You’ll work on structuring opinions clearly, using cushioning language (クッション言葉) to soften disagreement, and adjusting your keigo on the fly depending on who you’re speaking to.
- Make proposal and reports in Japanese, and manage more high-stakes client interactions
- Structuring and delivering proposals and presentations in Japanese
- Report business challenges to management and consult with supervisors on appropriate solutions and next steps.
- Collaborate in internal brainstorming sessions to develop product and service ideas, while providing detailed feedback and recommendations.
- Express appreciation to colleagues and contribute to fostering positive team relationships during post-project celebrations.
Advanced Business Japanese Course
Level: JLPT N2
This course is for learners who already operate comfortably in Japanese at work and want to refine precision, nuance, and persuasive ability at a near-native level. Ideal for learners targeting BJT or JLPT N2-level proficiency for visa, promotion, or leadership purposes.
- Sonkeigo and kenjougo — when and how to use each correctly
- Reporting and updating your team (ほうれんそう — 報告・連絡・相談)
- Participate in conversations during work and cliet lunch
