Have you heard of the Japanese word “Perapera”? It has the meaning of “talking fluently” in Japanese. Do you want to be able to speak fluently in Japanese? Join us at our Pera Pera night to interact one-on-one with a Japanese, perfect your conversational skills, meet new people, exchange culture and enjoy your Friday night to the fullest! During the English speaking time…. it will be your turn to guide the Japanese!

Let’s explore Kagurazaka, also called “The Little Paris”, an area lined up with cafes and restaurants. Every month, we organize a lunch tour to discover delicious food from places nearby our school. In June, let’s all taste the soft and delicious Kobe beef at a Kobe Specialty restaurant called Shinsen. Unfortunately, this time, there will be no vegetarian menu. Registration available at the reception (3F)!

Want to take a step towards understanding more about the Japanese culture? Let us all enjoy and appreciate a Kabuki performance in the National Theater! Watch the performance of a masterpiece depicting the various emotions of ordinary people in the Edo period from the first-floor seats!

Time to perfect your Kanji strokes with ink and brush!
Coto Japanese Academy organizes calligraphy class with different Kanji each month. Learn and practice writing the words, you can even try it in your very own style! Our instructor, Wakana Shingae, a professional calligrapher with 20 over years of experience, will be conducting the class. At the end of the lesson, you can get to write your best Kanji on a quality board and keep it as a souvenir! Reserve your slot now in reception (3F)!

Are you inspired to make your very own delicious Bento? Unlike our usual monthly cooking class, this month we will be having a special cooking class where we learn how to make a delicious Bento! Yamamoto Chikako, with years of cooking experience, will be teaching and guiding the class. Join us for ideas to create a delicious and appealing Bento! Reserve a slot now at reception (3F) now!
