Hi, my name is Alan Fisher and I have been involved with the Iidabashi Japanese Language School (ILS) since I arrived in Japan back in 2008.

I work for a Large Japanese IT company and I am one of only a handful of foreigners. As you can imagine, when I first arrived without a word of Japanese it was a huge challenge for me to interact with work colleagues and make a meaningful contribution to projects. I needed a good Japanese language school!

I believe that I’ve progressed in my company over the last 4 years because I stuck with ILS.

They consistently tailor the lessons to my Japanese level and content needs, and while I’ve been tutored by several teachers to date, I can honestly say that they have all been very competent.

More importantly they approach the class with a sense of humour that creates a friendly and fun environment to learn. I would say it is not just a school, but more a learning community.

Oh yeah… The nights out are fun too 😉
