Grace came to Tokyo from Taiwan to pursue her Japanese studies. Highly motivated to work in Japan, she joined our 8-week Business Course in September, to boost her choices to find a job in Japan.
How long have you been in Japan?
I arrived in April 2017, so I have been in Japan around half a year. I’m here on a student visa and I study Japanese in another school in the morning.
How long have you been studying Japanese?
I’ve been studying Japanese around 8 years in Taiwan, and I decided to complete my education by studying 1-year in a Japanese school.
Where did you hear about the 8-week business course?
I wanted to study formal Japanese so I made a quick search on internet for Business Japanese classes and Coto’s course popped up first.
What was your objective in taking the business course?
Once I graduate, in March 2018, I would like to stay in Japan and to start working for a Japanese company. I thought studying Japanese phrases and vocabulary specific to business settings in Japan would give me more chances to reach my goals. I feel what I learn in my other school is useful, but it isn’t enough if I want to work here in Tokyo.
Have you been able to use the material you learned in the course in your life?
While pursuing the Business Course, I started looking for a job and applying to open positions. The course includes role-play practice and interview training and I really think what I’ve learned in class will help me during my job interviews. Overall, I think this course is really great because it offers the opportunity to practice speaking. Our teachers were also very helpful and shared a lot of information about Japan’s corporate culture and business manners.
