2020 Yokohama Intensive Japanese Course Calendar

Open enrollment on a flexible basis – Each unit lasts 4 weeks.  Study as long as you want.  Minimum Enrollment is as little as 4 weeks.

Monday-Friday 

Morning – 9:10 – 12:00 (10 minute break every 50 minutes)

OR

Afternoon – 14:10 – 17:00 (10 minute break every 50 minutes)

Course Details

Japanese Crash Course

Duration: 4 Weeks

Our Crash Course is designed to teach you the basics of Japanese, starting with Hiragana and Katakana and moving onto topics or situations that you can use immediately in your daily life.

Course Details:

The teaching method for this course focuses on learning key phrases with no emphasis on grammar explanations at this point. You will learn two to three key phrases per chapter with a total of nine chapters covered.

Skills Learned:

  • Hiragana + Katakana and basic Kanji introduction
  • Greetings and introducing yourself
  • Being able to order in a restaurant or shops
  • Asking directions in the street or train station
  • Talk about your impressions of Japan

Beginner Level 1-2-3


Duration: 12 Weeks

Level: Beginner 1 - 2 - 3 (JLPT N5)

Our beginner course is perfect for students who understand the basics of Hiragana and Katakana and want to start learning the basics of conversational Japanese. The many opportunities for role-play will solidify what you learn and instill confidence in your ability to speak Japanese.

Course Details:

This course is split into 3 terms with each term being 4 weeks in length. The course can be purchased as a package or individual weeks. By the end of this course, you would have learned roughly 150 Kanji symbols, 300 new vocabulary words, and 70 key sentences.

Skills Learned:

  • Be able to introduce yourself
  • Hold conversation necessary for your daily life
  • Understand numbers, hours, calendar
  • Be able to use both casual and polite phrases
  • Give advice and reasons, talk about your experiences

Duration: 12 Weeks

Level:  Beginner 4 - 5 - 6 (JLPT N4)

Our Upper beginner course is perfect for students who want to start broadening their conversational Japanese and to express themselves with more complex phrases. The many opportunities for role-play will solidify what you learn and instill confidence in your ability to speak Japanese.

Course Details:

This course is split into 3 terms with each term being 4 weeks in length. The course can be purchased as a package or individual weeks. By the end of this course, you would have learned roughly 150 Kanji symbols, 300 new vocabulary words, and 70 key sentences.

Skills Learned:

  • Hold complex and detailed conversation
  • Talk about hearsay
  • Express feelings
  • Understand and use Japanese honorifics
  • Give instructions and express notion of obligation
