Necessary Documents for Student Visa
We strongly recommend you start preparing while deciding on the school to apply to. Some documents might require more time to prepare, such as financial statements and diplomas! Check out our ultimate guide to getting a Japanese student visa here.
These are all the basic requirements, but depending on your situation, some schools might require additional documents.
- Passport and passport stamps (departure and arrival) if you have visited Japan before
- A most recent ID photo taken against a plain white background, with no obstruction around your facial area (will be used for your visa)
- Most recent bank statement (either yours or your family’s) showing at least 2,000,000 yen
- Proof of income (most recent tax return is preferred)
- Diploma from your last school (high school, university, etc.)
For all schools that support student visa applications, you will need to prepare the following basic documents in digital PDF format. We will ask you to send the digital PDFs of your documents through email once we are ready to process your application.
Application Timeline
