Researched “Second Language Acquisition” at graduate school in the United Kingdom. Subsequently worked as an English teacher until becoming a Japanese language teacher in 2006. Worked as a Japanese language teacher in South Korea for a year and a half.
2) Interests and hobbies
Reading (all genres, but in particular novels with universal themes such as the works of Soseki Natsume), conversation (preferable to reading), language study (I’m currently interested in Vietnamese), walking in Tokyo, calligraphy.
3) How I’d like to contribute to learners
Rather than fit them into a mold, I would like to teach Japanese in a way that allows learners to express their true selves. At the same time, I want to set clear goals and to offer academic and emotional support to help them achieve those goals.
